General Aviation Airport Shops Offer Something for Everyone
Did you know that both Phoenix Deer Valley and Phoenix Goodyear Airports have shops that sell a variety of aviation-related items?
If you’re flying into Deer Valley, dining at the restaurant or just passing by, you might consider stopping into the Flight Bag shop. The store specializes in unique pilot supplies and aviation gifts. It also sells books, aviation manuals and charts, toys, greeting cards, t-shirts and Arizona souvenirs. Gift certificates are also available. The store is open in the summer daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and in the winter from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Everyone is welcome to come in and say hello,” said Susan Ramirez, who works at the Deer Valley Flight Bag shop. “We enjoy seeing families and their kids stop by on the weekend.”
The Deer Valley Flight Bag is located in the Deer Valley Airport Terminal located at 702 W. Deer Valley Road (Deer Valley Road and 7th Avenue in North Phoenix). The store can be reached at (623) 516-4808.
The Phoenix Goodyear Airport Shop caters to all ages and provides a vast assortment of aviation gifts and pilot supplies. For example, pilots can purchase books to study, headsets, uniform shirts, navigational charts, maps and many other accessories. And, for children, there is a good selection of toys (see photo above right). In fact, the A to Z Pilot Shop carries a whole line of Hot Wings Airplanes for kids and collectors alike.
“We try to keep a little bit of everything for aspiring pilots to professional pilots,” said Joe Monks, owner of the A to Z Pilot Shop at Phoenix Goodyear Airport.
The shop is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Monks said the store is important for Goodyear and the West Valley because there aren’t others nearby. “We try to provide a little bit of everything for the people in the West Valley.”
The Goodyear Airport Shop is located in the main terminal at the Phoenix Goodyear Airport located at 1658 S. Litchfield Road in Goodyear. It can be reached at 623-451-4577. Visit the website at www.azpilotshop.com.
