One of the newest canines at the Phoenix Police Airport Bureau is BBoBo. BBoBo or “BoBo” as she is called works with Officer West Liguori and is part of a program that pairs TSA-owned, explosive detection dogs with the Phoenix Police Airport Bureau Officers to keep the traveling public safe.

BoBo was born and trained at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. The nearly two year-old dog is a Belgian Malinois and named after John BoBo, a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps who lost his life saving his platoon in the Vietnam War. She arrived at Sky Harbor in March and has recently been certified to start work. Officer Liguori, a 14-year veteran at the Phoenix Police Department with the last year and half being at Sky Harbor is excited for this opportunity to work with BoBo.

“This is something I have always wanted to do in the Police Department,” he said.

Officer Liguori enjoys working with the traveling public, and undoubtedly travelers will see Officer Liguori and BoBo out in the terminals. BoBo, on the other hand, is fascinated by escalators and the baggage carousels. She has even ridden the PHX Sky Train.

Welcome Officer Liguroi and BoBo!
