The City of Phoenix Aviation Department Recognized as 'Diversity Champion'

Sky Harbor recognized for making positive impact in the minority business community

PHOENIX –The City of Phoenix Aviation Department was recognized as a 2017 Corporate Supplier Diversity Champion by the Pacific Southwest Minority Supplier Development Council (PSWMDC) at its Glitz and Glamor Awards Gala held May 5, 2017.

The Aviation Department, which operates Phoenix Sky Harbor, Phoenix Deer Valley and Phoenix Goodyear airports, was nominated by a local minority business enterprise firm for outstanding outreach, training and mentorship programs, as well as significant dollar or percentage spend with diverse suppliers.  Phoenix Sky Harbor has been named one of the top airports in the country for new small businesses by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of the Inspector General.

The Pacific Southwest Minority Supplier Development Council (PSWMDC) advocates for minority businesses and is the Arizona based affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC).

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is a corporate member of PSWMDC.
