New Service to Montréal Announced

Montréal? On y va! That’s right, Air Canada is launching the only Phoenix-Montréal non-stop flights on Saturday and Sundays. Flights will begin on November 6, 2010, and run until April 30, 2011. This will give Canadian visitors the opportunity to escape the winter wonderland of Canada for sunny and warm Arizona. And, for Valley residents, they can venture to Montreal to experience a world-class, sophisticated city with European flair and fantastic museums right here in North America.

Air Canada operates from Terminal 4 here at Sky Harbor, and in addition to the Montréal-Phoenix flights, Air Canada will also add daily winter flights between Phoenix and Toronto between October 1, 2010, and April 30, 2011. This is in addition to its existing year-round flights. All of these flights will be timed so that travelers can make connections to other Canadian cities as well as cities in Air Canada’s broad international network.

“The demand for air service between Phoenix and Canada has never been stronger,” said Air Service Development Manager Jim Peterson. “We’re very, very pleased with our two Canadian carriers – WestJet and Air Canada as well as US Airways that all offer service between Phoenix and Canada.”

This is a very exciting time for Phoenix Sky Harbor as more international flights are added. This will provide not only more opportunities to Valley residents to travel and see the world, but will continue to draw international visitors and serve as a gateway to other attractions in the state and in the Southwest as well as build business relationships and cultural ties between the two countries.

“We’re working hard here at Phoenix to keep the air service we have and get what we need to build into the future,” Peterson said.
