Phoenix, AZ – An acrylic painting stands more than 6-feet-tall and features an Aloe vera plant blossoming, with its apt title, “Yes We Have Some Bananas,” because of its resemblance to a bunch of the ripening yellow fruit.

Another dazzling piece is a hand-crafted and sewn fiber art piece that captures the vivid red and orange colors of a cactus flowering.

Both works are part of an art exhibition at Phoenix Sky Harbor titled “Full Bloom,” which includes a diverse selection of floral-themed artworks by 28 Arizona artists from 12 cities in the state.

The artworks will be on display through Aug. 3 in Terminal 4, level 3 east and west ends pre-security in eight display cases. The exhibitions feature the work of artists who responded to the Phoenix Airport Museum’s call for entries last fall.

Artists took various approaches to depict naturalistic or fanciful representations of blooms; the array of methods includes paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography and quilts.

The exhibitions features works from artists throughout the state, including Anthem, Flagstaff, Florence, Phoenix, Mesa, Sedona, Tempe and Tucson.

The Phoenix Airport Museum is one of the largest airport art museums in the U.S. The museum includes an art collection of nearly 900 artworks, 35 exhibition spaces in six buildings and the Phoenix Aviation Archive. For more information, visit:
