City Leaders Will Volunteer Alongside Navigators for Appreciation Week

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, members of the Phoenix City Council and City Manager Ed Zuercher will don purple jackets and join America’s Friendliest Airport®’s volunteer Navigators to honor National Volunteer Appreciation Week, which runs from April 11-17, 2016. Just like the helpful Navigators do on a daily basis, City leaders will greet travelers and answer questions at Sky Harbor’s busiest terminal, Terminal 4, throughout the week.

Navigator InfoGraphicEach week, nearly 400 friendly Navigators direct travelers and serve as the first impression for Arizona visitors. The Phoenix Sky Harbor volunteer program began in 2000 with 20 volunteers and has grown to become one of the largest airport volunteer programs in the country. Volunteers spend at least four hours each week at the Airport, and in 2015, volunteers donated more than 68,000 hours of their time helping travelers.
