2017 - What's New in Security Badging

The Security Badging Office will be implementing a new online training program starting July 2017 for SOAR (Secure Our Airport Responsibly), Customer Service Video and Airfield Driver Training (for those who are approved for airfield driving.) This means badge applicants who have cleared background checks can take this training outside of our office from their own computers or from company computers. Applicants will still be required to take airport Sensitive Security Information courses, SIDA or Sterile Area Training, in the airport Security Office during office hours.

We hope this change will reduce the amount of time applicants spend in the office as well as make the opportunities to take the SOAR, Customer Service and Airfield Driver Training more convenient for them.

Our badge enrollment system requires valid e-mail addresses for applicants. We ask employers to data-enter employees’ valid email addresses into the Authorized Signer Portal when enrolling them for new and renewal badges. We will accept the applicant’s work email address as long as it is unique to them, not a generic or shared email address, or their personal email address. The email address provided must be valid or the system will not allow the training to be sent to the applicant.

In the event the applicant does not have an email address, they will be required to create one even if it's temporary. The training system requires a valid email address or the applicant will not be able to complete the training to receive their badge. Training is required by the Transportation Security Administration for all security-cleared employees to receive a badge.
