Fingerprinting and Background Check FAQs
Q: I’ve completed the fingerprint process. What happens next?
- The fingerprints are submitted for a check on any criminal history over the past 10 years. The documentation that you present must show that you are eligible to be in and can work in the United States. The total process should take approximately 10 business days.
Q: What happens after background check is complete?
- You will receive up to three training emails from the Security Badging Office (email@example.com) inviting you to take the off-airport non-security sensitive training. In the event you are notified by your company that you are approved and you did not receive the notification, please check your spam/junk mail folder. If you determine that you have not received the training notification, please contact the badging office at (602) 273-2036 for assistance.
Q: How long should I wait before I call to ask about the results of my background check?
- Ten (10) business days.
Q: Who should I call if I want to find out the results of my background check?
- You must contact your employer. Please do NOT call the Badging Office.
Q: I have contacted my employer after 10 business days and the employer advised me to call the Badging Office. What should I do?
- If you have not received a letter from the Badging Office, advise your employer of this instructional document and ask them to have an AUTHORIZED SIGNER contact the Badging Office on your behalf. The Badging Office will research the inquiry and inform your employer of the progress of your background check.
NOTE: After your company has been notified that you are cleared and ready to come in for training and to receive a badge, you will have 30 days to come into our office to pick up your badge. If you do not come in prior to the 30 days, you will be required to be re-fingerprinted.
