What is the current status of this project?

In December 2016, Component I opened to the public. Component 2 includes a new 15 gate south concourse, renovated north concourse, new retail shops and new food and beverage outlets. Component 3 will include renovations to the north concourse as well as new retail, and food and beverage outlets.  

When will the project be complete?
Construction is scheduled to be completed by 2020 and the project will be in three phases which will be evaluated against market conditions and could be sequenced in a variety of ways:

  • Component 1: Remodel Terminal Processor including a consolidated checkpoint, additional ticket counters and baggage claim devices. Completed December 2016
  • Component 2: Raze and Rebuild the South Concourse to include 15 gates for passenger travel. To be completed in late 2018/early 2019
  • Component 3: Remodel north concourse to include additional concession opportunities. To be completed in 2020

How much will this project cost?
The project budget is $590 million (in 2014 figures). The project will be financed through airport revenues such as parking, concessions and tenant fees. No local tax dollars will be used.

What will happen to Terminal 2?
Eventually, Terminal 2 airlines will be moved into Terminal 3 and Terminal 2 will close. Find out more about the Paul Coze mural in Terminal 2.
