Terminal 3’s New, Expanded Lower-Level Gate Area Opens

Terminal 3's newly expanded gate area is now open for PHX passengers and airlines. Modern gates are available in the Terminal 3 south concourse lower level, following successful completion of the project. Passengers experience a fully refreshed hold room, with a larger seating area, new escalators, restroom facilities, food and beverage options and charging ports, improving the overall experience.
Updated Gate F13 is used for T3’s regional/commuter airlines: Denver Air, Southern Airways and Advanced Air. The new gate area enhances the experience for regional/commuter airline passengers and staff, as passengers now are able to wait for their flights on the same level as the aircraft.
New gates F14, F15 and F16 were added to the Terminal 3 lower level. Opening this expanded gate area provides additional overflow capacity. Passengers using these gates will access aircraft through a remote hardstand operation, taking buses and using a passenger boarding ramp to board an aircraft parked remotely on the airfield. These gates will be scheduled on a contingency/overflow basis only, as needed, to relieve gate congestion. The airport now can utilize this gate area for all airlines that operate out of PHX. Previously, it was just used by the three regional/commuter airlines.
