FAA Intends to Update Traffic Patterns
The Federal Aviation Administration will publish notices in local publications about its intent to update the airspace traffic patterns in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. These changes are designed to enhance safety and improve air traffic efficiency at Phoenix Sky Harbor and other airports in the region as part of the FAA Airspace Modernization program.
This notice is part of their formal public engagement process and does not yet include any information on the proposed changes. The Aviation Department expects that the next phase of the outreach process will include outreach to local elected officials and other airport stakeholders, followed by community outreach meetings in Spring 2026.
