Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport recently hosted a heartwarming “Bring Your Grandchild to Volunteer Day” as part of the Navigator Volunteer Program. Culture Corner – Phoenix Zoo Visiting PHX

The month of July started with National Zoo Day, and at Phoenix Sky Harbor, it’s ending with a Phoenix Zoo visit. The Culture Corner, started earlier this year, is the Airport’s monthly programming to surprise, delight, educate and entertain passengers. It’s located post-security in Terminal 3. Passenger Returns to PHX to Meet and Thank Lifesavers

Rachel Bakker, a passenger from Iowa traveling through PHX Sky Harbor with her husband and son, experienced a medical emergency when her heart stopped while in line at a TSA Security Checkpoint in Terminal 4 on March 12. Thanks to the accessibility of a nearby Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and the quick response of nearby passengers and airport staff, her life was saved.

Phoenix Airport Museum: the Museum-level Program that Started with a Dental Poster

The exhibition program at Phoenix Sky Harbor started with a simple phone call. One day in July of 1988, PHX was asked if they would be willing to display local student’s posters on dental sealants. The person who was overseeing the growing airport art collection took this opportunity to curate some additional art from local artists with teeth and smile themes, and eventually named the exhibition, “Dental Impressions.”
