Navigator Focus – Arthur Messinger
As Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport celebrates the Navigators’ 25th anniversary, we are featuring long-time navigator volunteers. Arthur Messinger is one of our longest-serving Navigators. He has logged more than 8,500 volunteer hours since starting as a Navigator in November 2002, and is a member of the Navigators’ Compass Club, for those who have served more than 1,500 hours with PHX.
Prior to his Navigator days, Messinger worked 35 years with General Foods Corporation in White Plains, New York and in Europe. His duties included supermarket promotions for all kinds of products, and he also served as director of materials management. Messinger enjoyed three years with his family living in Belgium, and even represented the company in negotiations in Eastern European countries including Russia.
When not at the Airport, Messinger enjoys swimming, tennis, reading, train travel and watching good movies! We thank him for his thousands of hours of service as a Navigator and hope you say “hi” when you see him at PHX!
