Taxiway U Construction Ongoing
Construction on Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport's Taxiway Uniform project continues. The cross-field taxiway project is visible to the public and includes excavation between Sky Harbor Boulevard and Buckeye Road, on the west end of the Airport. The new airport taxiway will be 2,000 feet long, bridging the north and south airfields. Currently, the only taxiways at PHX are on the east end of the airfield. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027. Benefits include enhanced aircraft flow and streamlined airfield operations. There will be various road restrictions and closures in the area throughout the project, impacting traffic.
