90th Anniversary Employee Spotlight: Lisa F.
For nearly two decades, Lisa F. has been an important part of the Phoenix Airport System. An employee since 2006, she now serves as Environmental Planning Project Manager, where she leads sustainability and safety efforts across Phoenix Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports. Her work helps ensure compliance with environmental regulations while protecting both the community and the natural world.
Lisa’s role is as dynamic as the airport itself. One day she may be reviewing tenant operations while another day could include coordinating with state and federal environmental partners. Looking back, she remembers the early days of her career filled with camaraderie, plenty of laughter, and even lighthearted “Academy Awards” celebrations where employees were recognized like Hollywood stars.
Her connection to PHX actually began even earlier. As a teenager, Lisa and her friends often gathered at Terminal 3 to watch planes take off and land. Years later, she found herself working in that very terminal, a full circle moment that still makes her smile.
From the construction of new control towers and concourses to the launch of the PHX Sky Train®, Lisa has witnessed the airport’s remarkable growth. She takes pride in knowing her work safeguards people and the environment, and she looks forward to the exciting developments still to come.
