Rooted & Rising: A New Phoenix Airport Museum Exhibition
Next time you’re flying out of Terminal 3 take a moment to explore the Phoenix Airport Museum’s newest art exhibition, Rooted & Rising.
From soaring saguaros to bustling cityscapes, life in the desert is filled with contrast. Featuring 20 artists, Rooted & Rising highlights these dualities through a wide range of artistic voices and art mediums.
Some artworks approach desert living with humor, like Randy Schmidt’s What Not To Do in the Desert sculpture featuring a hand petting a Gila Monster, while other artworks pay homage to individuals who have contributed to building and sustaining life in the desert, like Frank Ybarra’s fine art print, Desert Landscape Maintenance. Together, the works in this exhibition capture the beauty, complexity and endurance of life in the desert.
Find Rooted & Rising in the Terminal 3 museum Gallery on level 4, post-security. And don’t forget to grab a free postcard before you fly.
