Aviation Department Honored with Award for Finance Excellence

The Aviation Department Financial Management Division (FMD) was recently awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The award is for FMD’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2025. The GFOA established the Certificate Program in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles for preparing annual comprehensive financial reports, in areas like transparency and full disclosure. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. FMD has received the award every year since 2016.
