Making Every Drop Count: PHX’s Water Conservation Efforts

At PHX, we’re proud to lead the way in water conservation. Did you know that our per passenger usage is less than half the national industry average? These results are thanks to a range of innovative programs including drought-tolerant landscaping, low-flow fixtures and more.
Through holistic management of water resources, we prioritize minimizing consumption and protecting water resources, while building a resilient system. As a demonstration of this commitment, we have significantly reduced water use from our 2014 baseline despite substantial growth.
Total water use has been reduced by approximately 25 million gallons from the 2014 baseline, and water use per passenger is down to just six gallons per person, well below the national average of 15–25 gallons for airports.
