Area Federal Aviation Administration Modernization Project

The Federal Aviation Administration advised the City of Phoenix Aviation Department that due to the volume of comments received during the agency’s public input process on the draft Environmental Assessment, FAA staff will be taking additional time to review and address the comments to the DEA, as well as evaluate alternative courses of action for several environmentally sensitive areas.
As a result of these additional coordination and review requirements, the planned publication of any proposed changes has been rescheduled from February 2027 to June 10, 2027. For more information, see the FAA’s community engagement website.
