See and Hear What Sounds Like Arizona

July 14, 2026

Stop by the Phoenix Airport Museum’s newest exhibition Sounds Like Arizona featuring selected images, memorabilia and music from Phoenix’s Canyon Records, one of the oldest independent record labels in the country.

Since the release of Navajo Singer by Ed Lee Natay in 1951, Canyon Records has continually produced and distributed Native American music while promoting the cultural expressions of Native American artists and their communities.

Canyon has released more than 450 titles by Native American artists in the genres of pow-wow, traditional, Native American Church, round dance, social and Native American flute as well as new fusions of Native and non-Native musical expressions in genres like new age, world-beat jazz and classical.

The Sounds like Arizona exhibition is located at Terminal 3 level 4, post-security on the west side. Visit the Phoenix Airport Museum webpage to see more information about current exhibitions and the collection.
