PHX Innovators Honored
A pair of Aviation Department employees are being recognized for their inventive hard work.
Taylor S., a project manager in the Planning and Environmental Division, was part of a multi-airport group that presented how airports can effectively dispose of the land they own, as part of their land reuse plan using a new automated process with the Federal Aviation Administration.
This presentation won the top project award in the Young Professionals Innovation Competition, as part of an Airport Planning, Design, & Construction Symposium put on by the American Association of Airport Executives / Airport Consultants Council.
Another PHX innovator was recognized by an important industry journal. Sarah M., small business engagement manager with the Aviation Department, was named in the 2025 Top 40 Under 40 list by Airport Business. The Airport Business Top 40 Under 40 program is one of the most respected recognitions in the aviation industry, and it highlights 40 professionals under the age of 40 whose work influences how airports, airlines, consultants, and partners operate, innovate, and serve their communities.
