East Horizon West at PHX

East Horizon West, the newest Phoenix Airport Museum exhibition, will open later in October at the east end of Terminal 4, level 3 in four display cases near the B and C gates.
This exhibition will feature four artists born in Japan who now live and work in Arizona. Using materials such as resin, clay, paint and gold leaf, each artwork reflects cultural identity and memories carried from one home to another. Their contemporary works draw on familiar elements of Japanese aesthetic simplicity, cuisine and folklore, combined with imagery from their new lives in the United States, including desert plants, American food and maximalist patterns.
East Horizon West will invite viewers to peer into a different perspective, imagining what it is like to rise in the East and settle in the West.
