PHX Welcomes Back Wings for Autism

October 14, 2026
The annual Wings for Autism® event returned to America's Friendliest Airport® on Saturday, Oct. 3, for the 11th year.
Every year, The ARC of Arizona partners with Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines and the Transportation Security Administration to give individuals with autism and their families the opportunity to experience what traveling through an airport is like.
Participants went through the check-in process, including security screening, and boarded an aircraft that taxied around the airfield to simulate a flight. This event also gives airport, TSA, and airline employees a great chance to understand how to provide accommodation for all travelers.
Wings for Autism at Phoenix Sky Harbor is one of the largest of its kind in the country. This year, about 250 participants attended.
