Navigator Buddies Celebrate Fifth Anniversary

The Navigator Buddies program recently turned five and celebrated in style – 50’s style – at America’s Friendliest Airport® by barking and twisting at the Golden Oldies Sock Hop pet parade held in Terminal 4.

The Navigator Buddies, a therapy dog program, began at Phoenix Sky Harbor in September 2017. The Navigator Buddies are volunteers, dogs and owners who are registered in good standing with a qualified pet therapy organization. The dogs are popular with travelers and employees alike and provide company to travelers and airport visitors who might need some quiet comfort with a furry friend.

Navigator Buddy 2To celebrate the five-year anniversary, the Buddies walked the purple carpet dressed in their poodle skirts and varsity jackets strutting to some golden oldies.

Following the parade fun, the favorite furry pals were treated to puppuccinos from Starbucks and escorted their owners through the terminal to give away their Navigator Buddies trading cards and commemorative fifth anniversary chocolate coins.
