New Sculpture Blooms in Terminal 3 Garden

The Phoenix Airport Museum recently received a colorful addition to the Terminal 3 Sculpture Garden. Flower Tree by Matt Wedel is a monumental ceramic sculpture that is nearly 6-feet-tall and weighs more than a ton. Featuring expressive plant forms on a vertical plinth, the artwork’s vibrant pinks, reds and yellows enrich the flourishing desert garden area.

Wedel is known for his larger-than-life artwork and pushing the boundaries of ceramics. His hand-built, high-relief sculptures are inspired by architecture and “drawing” with clay.

The Terminal 3, level 1 garden area now features six large-scale sculptures from the Phoenix Airport Museum collection. Located on the west end, the garden is open to the public and can be visited even without a boarding pass.
