Summer Travel Season Remains Record Breaking

With the first half of the year already over, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport continues to experience record setting passenger traffic.

35 Years and Counting

For 35 years the Phoenix Airport Museum has been filling Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport with art. The museum is located throughout the entire airport system. Visitors to the airport can view art inside, outside, above and below.

Phoenix Sky Harbor Awarded Grant for Cultural Corridor

The City of Phoenix Aviation Department is the recipient of a $10 million Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity grant. The funding will be used to create a Cultural Corridor that reconnects disadvantaged and underserved communities adjacent to the Airport with Downtown Phoenix.

American to Add More Flights to its Winter Schedule

This November, American Airlines will add more than 25 daily departures from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport while also launching new service from the Valley of the Sun to Jacksonville, FL, the airline’s fourth nonstop destination to the Sunshine State. Additionally, the airline will resume nonstop service for the first time in more than three years to Wichita, KS.

More Flights to Toronto

Lynx Air has announced new service from Phoenix. Starting October 12, they will offer nonstop service between Phoenix and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Summer Ready Message for PHX Shared with Media

With the start of the Monsoon in June, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport staff shared with media and its viewers the steps the Airport takes to mitigate the summer storm season. Staff shared about the preparation that is done year-round and the real-time response that happens at the airport with incoming storms during the monsoon season so passengers’ impacts are minimized.

PHX Sky Train® Wins Best of the Valley Award

We are so excited! PHOENIX magazine named the PHX Sky Train® to their prestigious list of Best of the Valley - Urban Scene in its 2023 award edition of the magazine.

Phoenix Sky Harbor Awarded Grant for Solar Parking

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport secured a $20 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to expand the Airport’s sustainability initiatives. The funding will be utilized to design and construct solar covered parking at the Terminal 4 garage on the top floor, 44th Street PHX Sky Train Station® and 24^th PHX Street Sky Train Station® parking lots.

PHX Recycling Goes International

Recycling is deeply ingrained in Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The Airport has been recycling since 1989, however, with stricter recycling standards and the lack of standardization in recycling, passenger confusion often caused contamination with collection.

Birdwatcher’s Report

National Airlines announced the arrival of the Boeing 747 to its fleet last fall. The “Queen of the Skies” spent some time at PHX at the end of June.
