America’s Friendliest Airport® Reminds Drivers: Don’t Be Caught Without a Spot

Reserve parking in advance of busy travel periods to guarantee a space

PHOENIX – Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is expecting high passenger traffic for the upcoming fall break timeframe. With parking areas expected to be very busy, the airport encourages customers to reserve their spot early to ensure they have a place to park on airport grounds.

Fall break in the metro Phoenix area varies among school districts but generally begins in late September and runs through mid-October. The heaviest travel is expected to take place the first two weeks of October, and parking on demand might be scarce during that timeframe.

Customers should go to skyharbor.com/parking/ to make a reservation, view rates and parking locations, and see existing parking availability. They can also sign up for the free parking loyalty program and earn points for future visits.

Parking can be reserved at the economy parking facilities, the terminal garages, and the 24th Street Express Pay Parking. A recent parking addition near the Rental Car Center and available by reservation only from Oct. 3-16 is the Phoenix Sky Harbor Center Parking Garage, 1820 E. Sky Harbor Circle South. Parking is $12 per day and shuttles will take passengers to the PHX Sky Train® Station at the Rental Car Center for easy access to the terminals. Visit skyharbor.com/parking/ to enroll and save your spot.

Other travel tips for busy periods at Phoenix Sky Harbor:

  • Leave early and allow plenty of time.
  • Check out our Roadway Restrictions webpage for information on any project work that may be going on at the airport.
  • View security checkpoint wait times on the skyharbor.com homepage or on one of the flight information display boards in each terminal.
  • Visit the interactive maps on skyharbor.com on your smartphone or tablet to find out which restaurants and shops are near your gate as well as other airport information.
  • Look for our Navigators dressed in purple. Navigator volunteers serve all over the airport by providing directions, information, and friendly assistance.
