Phoenix Sky Harbor Introduces New Parking Guidance System

Airport piloting system in Terminal 3 Garage to better guide customers

PHOENIX – Just in time for the busy end-of-year holidays, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is introducing a new system in the Terminal 3 Garage to guide drivers to open spots and improve traffic flow.

The camera-based guidance system uses sensors to monitor each parking space in real time, providing accurate data on garage occupancy and visual indicators to direct drivers to available spaces on each parking level. Drivers will see basic red/green indicator lights throughout the garage, guiding them to open spots indicating where spaces are available. This can reduce the time spent searching for parking spots, cutting down on both drive time and stress before catching a flight. The system also can help drivers locate their vehicle when they return, and it supports PHX’s sustainability goals by reducing vehicle driving and idling times.

Phoenix Sky Harbor is working with parking manager ACE Parking on the “Portier VISION” system. The airport is piloting the system in the Terminal 3 Garage, which has more than 2,000 parking spots, with plans to expand to the larger Terminal 4 garage.

All customers parking at Phoenix Sky Harbor during the busy holiday season are encouraged to reserve a spot to ensure they can find parking at the airport. Visit skyharbor.com/parking to make a reservation or for more information.
