Food, art and shops highlight Hispanic culture at PHX

PHX to host Mexican folklore dance performance, Sept. 25

PHOENIX – Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month by highlighting the various Hispanic-inspired offerings available to travelers. From award-winning food concepts to art exhibitions, cultural events and shops, PHX is proud to feature elements of Arizona reflected through its Hispanic offerings.

Phoenix Sky Harbor offers a range of dining options in Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 where passengers can enjoy the flavors of Hispanic food. Travelers will find a variety of dining options from grab‑and‑go items to award‑winning concepts created by prominent chefs and restaurateurs who have shaped the Valley’s Hispanic food scene. Local favorites such as Barrio Café, Humble Tortas & Tacos and Ajo Al’s serve Sonoran‑style staples, while Blanco Tacos & Tequila and Tacos Chiwas offer modern regional dishes. Together, these restaurants give passengers the opportunity to enjoy local flavors before a flight or after arriving in the Valley. At Phoenix Deer Valley Airport, Barrio Brewing also has menu items from south of the border.

As part of its mission to create a memorable environment that promotes Arizona’s unique artistic and cultural heritage, the Phoenix Airport Museum features works by Hispanic artists whose murals, sculptures, prints, and paintings celebrate Hispanic traditions and community. Current exhibitions, including the spotlight on artist Luis Jiménez (Terminal 3, level 1, north side) and Teresa Villegas’ La Lotería series (Terminal 3, level 4, east arrivals area), highlight the cultural narratives and creative contributions represented within the Museum’s art collection and exhibition program.

America’s Friendliest Airport® is also hosting a Mexican folklore dance performance by the ASU Valle Del Sol Folklorico Club from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 25, at the Culture Corner, a vibrant space located post security in Terminal 3 that showcases Arizona’s beauty and cultural diversity.

Travelers can also browse shops featuring handmade goods, specialty foods and locally crafted products, with gift shops and newsstands such as Sonora Southwest Living and Camelback Provisions offering Hispanic‑inspired home accessories, crafts, and gourmet items.

Travelers are invited to take part in Hispanic Heritage Month by enjoying the food, art and shops that honor Hispanic culture at America’s Friendliest Airport^®.
