Early Bag Check Service Begins Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026

Early Bag Check is a free, convenient service that lets you check your luggage before you arrive at the terminal and skip airline ticket counter lines to save time. Whether you’re arriving by car or train, Early Bag Check helps you move through the airport with ease without having to carry your luggage on the PHX Sky Train^®. 

Use Early Bag Check To:

• Check your luggage after returning your rental car or parking, before heading to the terminal.
• Skip airline ticket counter lines and save time.
• Travel lighter and easier through the terminal and on the PHX Sky Train®.
• Make travel easier for families, seniors and groups.

• East Economy Parking 

How It Works

• Rental Car Center: Check your bags after returning your car before boarding the PHX Sky Train®.
• East Economy Parking: Check your bags before parking. Follow signs when entering.
• At the Early Bag Check counter, you’ll receive a claim check for each bag you check.
• Early Bag Check counters are open daily from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., including holidays.
• You can also print your boarding pass at Early Bag Check.

Who Can Use Early Bag Check? 

• Passengers flying domestically with:

  • American Airlines
  • Delta Air Lines
  • Frontier Airlines
  • Southwest Airlines
  • United Airlines

• Early Bag Check is not available for international travel.

Important Details

• You may check up to two bags per person, depending on your airline.
• While there is no additional fee for Early Bag Check, regular airline baggage fees still apply.
• Per airline policy, bags must be checked at least 90 minutes before the scheduled departure and no more than four hours before your flight departure.
• Special items like car seats or sporting equipment must be checked at the airline ticket counter.
