Shutdowns Scheduled in October, November

The PHX Sky Train® will be shut down overnight five times beginning Oct. 6, 2018 for scheduled maintenance.

The shutdowns will take place on consecutive Saturday nights starting at 8 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following Sunday. During the shutdowns, a shuttle bus will operate between each terminal, the East Economy Lot and the 44th Street PHX Sky Train® Station.

The shutdown dates and times are as follows:

  • Oct. 6, 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  • Oct. 13, 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  • Oct. 20, 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  • Oct. 27, 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  • Nov. 3, 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The airport shuttle stops will be at the following locations during the shutdown period:

  • Terminal 2, outer curb, exit Door 5
  • Terminal 3, north side, outer curb, exit Door 3; south side, outer curb, exit Door 8
  • Terminal 4, north side, Level 1 outer curb, exit Door 2; south side, Level 1 outer curb, exit Door 7
  • 44th Street Station PHX Sky Train® Station, north side of train station, east end
  • East Economy Lot, south side of train station, west end

What is the PHX Sky Train®?

The PHX Sky Train® is an automated train that transports travelers between Valley Metro Rail at 44th and Washington streets, the East Economy Parking area and airport terminals.

Trains arrive and depart every 3-5 minutes and operates 24 hours a day. 

How much will it cost to ride?

The PHX Sky Train® is free to the public.

Station Amenities 44th Street & Washington

  • Boarding pass kiosks – print your boarding pass with participating airlines before arriving at the terminal.
  • Valley Metro Rail Ticket Machines – purchase your Valley Metro Rail tickets after arriving at the station. Ticket kiosks are located on Level 2.
  • Cell Phone Waiting Lot
  • Pet Park
  • Four hour parking meters
  • Dropping off or picking up travelers using Terminal 4? The 44th Street & Washington PHX Sky Train® Station offers a handy alternative to driving into the Airport.

East Economy

  • Boarding pass kiosks – print your boarding pass with participating airlines before arriving at the terminal.
  • Pet Park
  • Circulator vehicles to transport passengers from the uncovered parking areas to the PHX Sky Train® Station.
  • Family Friendly, ADA Parking north of the station.
  • Departing from the East Economy Station? Be sure to check the lighted display for the train's destination before boarding. Trains travel in both directions from that station.

Terminal 3

  • Located on Level 2, travelers can disembark the PHX Sky Train® and walk to the security checkpoint to catch their flight. To access Terminal 2, use the covered walkway from the Terminal 3 PHX Sky Train® Station.
  • PHX Sky Cart, a new electric cart service, is available to transport customers with special needs on the walkway that connects Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. The service is available daily between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m.

Terminal 4

  • Conveniently located on Level 3, travelers can disembark the PHX Sky Train® and walk directly to the security checkpoint to catch their flight.
