Aviation Department Earns Top Award for Financial Reporting
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded the city of Phoenix Aviation Department the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its fiscal 2024 financial report. The certificate is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
Phoenix Sky Harbor has won this award every year since 2016.
The GFOA established the certificate program in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles in their annual comprehensive financial reports. The association recognizes individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal.
