Aviation Careers Take Flight at Peralta School Career Day

The Eighth Annual Peralta School Career Day took place on Thursday, May 15, with the goal of inspiring students to explore their future career paths. Organized by the Cartwright School District, the event gave students from kindergarten through sixth grade the chance to attend 15-minute presentations from professionals across a wide range of industries, including aviation.

Aviation Department staff introduced students to careers beyond the familiar pilot and flight attendant roles. They shared their own career journeys, explained the responsibilities of their current positions, and highlighted the skills needed for success in aviation-related fields. Presenters represented a variety of roles, including museum curation, construction and design, technology, and facility operations.

Participating Aviation Department staff included:

  • Haley H., Phoenix Airport Museum
  • Brian G., Design and Construction Services
  • Elizabeth G., Technology
  • Rusty F. and Julian M., Facilities & Services

Career Day offered students a firsthand look at the many paths available in aviation and encouraged them to start dreaming big about their futures.
