Hitting the Finish Line for Great Customer Service

An enthusiastic crowd kept the gas pedal down at the June “Rev Up Your Customer Service” session led by the Phoenix Sky Harbor Guest and Employee Experience team. The auto racing theme set the perfect tone for panelists and a group of airport employees eager to improve their already strong skills.

Featured speaker Amanda Gonzalez, Red Bull’s National Account Manager, urged the group to smile at passengers on the way up and on the way down the airport escalators: “Taking that action to do the smallest thing to make their experience better will set you apart,” Gonzalez said.

Employees also heard from Assistant Aviation Director Roxann Favors, who stressed that the airport provides elevated tools for customer service. Other speakers represented Aviation Operations, and the PHX Americans with Disabilities Act/Title VI program, stressing service without speed bumps.

The group ended the day literally racing Lego cars they had created together at their tables, showing that teamwork always gets you across the finish line faster!
