Eastbound Sky Harbor Boulevard to be Closed Nightly for Two Weeks

Project work at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport’s Terminal 3 will be closing a major route through the airport nightly for two weeks. Beginning the evening of Sept. 23, eastbound Sky Harbor Boulevard on the north side of Terminal 3 will be closed 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. nightly, through and including the night of Monday, Oct. 6. All eastbound traffic during those times must detour through Terminal 3’s inner curb lanes, which will remain open. Significant traffic delays are expected due to the closure of this key corridor through the airport.

  • Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, follow all detour signs, and strongly consider dropping off and picking up at the 24th or 44th Street PHX Sky Train® stations to avoid the detour and heaviest traffic.
  • Drivers should enter Phoenix Sky Harbor using the airport’s east entrance to avoid the closures.
  • This two-week closure is necessary to continue progress on the Terminal 3 North 2 Concourse project.

See Phoenix Sky Harbor’s Roadway Restrictions webpage for more information on the upcoming closures and any updates. The Terminal 3 North 2 Concourse project will include additional road restrictions over the next year.
