People @ PHX: Arturo M., Parking Facilities Inspection Supervisor, ACE Parking

October 14, 2026
Armed with pride in his work and a commitment to completing every task well no matter its size, Arturo M. brings steady dedication to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport’s parking facilities. For 26 years, Arturo has worked at Phoenix Sky Harbor with ACE Parking and today serves as a facilities inspection supervisor, a role that helps keep airport facilities clean, safe and reliable for travelers.
Arturo began his career at the airport inspecting fire extinguishers throughout the parking garages. Over the years, his role expanded into a multifaceted job that includes daily and overnight hands-on work across the parking facilities. His responsibilities include premium parking oversight, painting curbs and stalls and operating sweepers and scrubbers that keep every space clean, safe and well maintained. He also builds and maintains wheelchairs for a mobility assistance program that supports travelers moving between the Rental Car Center and the terminals.
His role evolved as Arturo recognized what needed attention and took action to address it. Instead of simply pointing out what needed care, he asked for the tools to fix issues and took pride in improving the airport’s parking facilities. That initiative has shaped his role and earned respect from colleagues, including many who once worked under his father, a longtime building maintenance supervisor who retired from the City of Phoenix.
The airport is also where Arturo met a spouse of 25 years, and where his daughter, a school teacher, worked last year during her summer break from teaching and earned praise for her hard work and kindness. Seeing that dedication reflected in the next generation remains one of his proudest moments.
Arturo says what he enjoys most about his role is ending each day knowing something meaningful was accomplished. He adds that even simple tasks contribute to the chain of operations that keeps Phoenix Sky Harbor moving. His approach to his work strengthens that connection for travelers and employees alike.
