As a contractor, consultant or vendor “contractor” for the city of Phoenix Aviation Department, you will likely find opportunities to promote the projects that your company is working on at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix Deer Valley or Phoenix Goodyear Airport. The Phoenix Aviation Department has procedures in place to help you communicate to the public about your excellent work for the city of Phoenix while not compromising city of Phoenix Aviation Department policies or security. The key is to collaborate with the Aviation Department before releasing information or using trademarked materials:

The following phrases and logos are trademarked by the city of Phoenix:

  • PHX Sky Train® 

In order to use any of these protected phrases or logos, you must obtain prior approval in writing from the city of Phoenix Aviation Department’s Public Relations Division. In order to use the trademarked Phoenix city bird you must obtain prior approval in writing from the main city of Phoenix Public Information Office.

If you are contacted by media about a city of Phoenix project, please refer the reporter to the city of Phoenix Aviation Department’s Public Relations division. This includes trade publications.

Any printed articles, press releases, Web articles, contest entries or case studies about city of Phoenix Aviation Department projects should be approved in writing by the city of Phoenix Aviation Department’s Public Relations division prior to being made public.

Advertisements discussing city of Phoenix Aviation Department projects must be approved by the Aviation Department’s Public Relations division in writing prior to publication or must include a disclaimer that the city of Phoenix doesn’t necessarily endorse a contractor or its work.

Any quotes or testimonials from city of Phoenix staff may not be used unless pre-approved in writing by the city of Phoenix Aviation Department’s Public Relations division.

Photos taken by contractors of city of Phoenix projects must be pre-approved in writing by the city of Phoenix Aviation Department’s Public Relations division before being made public. Some photos may contain security sensitive information and publication may violate federal law.

The Aviation Department Public Relations division must be given at least three business days to review requests and materials.

The city of Phoenix Aviation Public Relations division coordinates media, Web postings, printed materials, advertisements and other public communications about Aviation Department projects.
